This is a rare wine superbly crafted: a handmade dark cherry dessert wine fermented from organic fruit and honey. Not to mention being aged two years in stainless steel, as yet another remarkably unique touch.
Twin Eagles goes down with that agreeable warm feeling that higher alcohol content provides despite being just a notch above a Shiraz at 15%. You’ll think “port,” on the nose with its complexity of notes.
A rich red in the classy-yet-folksy 375ml bottle, the wine pours into the glass with a caramel hue that hints of the flesh of dark Bing and Lambert cherries, and the mellow sweetness provided by the honey gives a long, pleasant finish with a wisp of the most perfect smoke to complement the warm, toasty buzz.
